patio II stool

This project is a reflection on the patios materialized through the creation of a seating system. With them, the character of close coexistence between people is reinterpreted, where tradition is revived in a common delimited space.

The patio was an eminently feminine space, since men were absent from work, where the daily life of the families was articulated through the close fraternity of the women who inhabited it. Here, several generations of women and children interacted, shared their work and leisure and passed on their knowledge orally. It was a place of meeting, coexistence, work and culture.

The structure, made of MDF, corresponds to this space that defines the seating area. The seat, on the other hand, wants to be the witness of tradition, being a piece made of bulrush by artisan hands.
